FIELD TRIAL TRAINING & CAMPAIGNING

We attend trials from Michigan to Alabama. Handling dogs in juvenile, all age and gundog stakes as well as several championships and ABC futurities. Field trial competition is intense and requires commitment to win. Developing rapport between dog and handler takes time. We use lots of birds, shooting birds over your dog on a regular basis! Let us put a title on your dog, see them on the pages of the American Brittany Magazine.

Upon arrival at Winnen's Kennels, all dogs are required to have a certified health certificate signed by a veterinarian proving your dog is currently free of parasites and up to date on shots. Owners will be informed of the anticipated trial schedule. Owners are responsible for acquiring horses for their own use at all field trials. Fees associated with field trialing include monthly rates, entry fees, handling fees, bird fees and costs associated with veterinary care. Purse money will be retained by the handler. Monthly payments are due in advance and every 30 days thereafter. Any balance due will be prorated.

BIRD DOG TRAINING

Training your dog cannot take place without your involvement. You are your dog's master and he must be willing to listen and take direction from you. You must be honest with us on what training has already taken place for your dog; knowing what has already occurred in a dogs life makes training easier for us to achieve the results you want. When we have completed training with your dog, you must be able to take over where we have left off. Therefore, we will require your willing participation in your dog's training. All dogs will receive a full written evaluation during the first two weeks they are here. We will be honest with you and give you feedback on your dog's training progress and estimated timeline for reaching your dog's potential. We will call/e-mail you and schedule training visits throughout your dog's stay with us. You will bring your dog back to us for one free follow-up session to help us help you with any concerns you may have and refresh what was covered in the training process.

A minimum of a one-month stay is required. Remember in addition to the training that will take place, your dog must become acquainted with our facility and us. Whenever possible we like to start your dogs training process with a two week stay. You will then return to our facility for hands on training, your dog will return home with you for one week allowing you to reinforce what they have been taught. You will then return the dog for further training with us for the remaining two weeks. We have found that this process keeps you and your dog on the same page. The dog doesn't have to accept a major change in expectations at home. Our goal is to have your dog doing what you want you want it to, for YOU. What he or she does for us is of little consequence if they won't perform for you. Monthly payments are due in advance and every 30 days thereafter.
Any balance due will be prorated.
